Featured Initiative: Make Affordable Housing Smart
AM Technologies, in partnership with the JKH Foundation has launched the ‘Make Affordable Housing Smart’ initiative as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program.
The initiative is designed to equip affordable housing apartment buildings with first-class sensing and monitoring solutions, aimed at enhancing property management system, adding value to the building, as well and contributing to the sustainability of affordable housing.
Currently, AM Technologies and the Foundation are working with Community League Of The Heights (CLOTH), a nonprofit affordable housing developer in New York to create a demonstration of the efficiencies of AM’s Property Relyance system in two apartment buildings, including a ‘special needs’ building for the formerly homeless.
The initiative offers AM’s technology to nonprofit housing developers at a deep discount, and the program includes capacity building and training of the property managers on both the hardware and software aspects of the technology. The initiative has also drawn attention from a number of nonprofit developers nationwide.
